Date of Trip:
Tentative plans are to leave for Florence, Oregon on June 13,and arrive on June 15.
We are planning on arriving in Norfolk, Virginia 63 days after leaving Oregon. This should be completed on August 13.

Route Followed:
We will be following the TransAmerica Bicycle Trail from Coast to Coast. On average we will travel 80 miles per day. Because of the vast difference of terrain throughout the country, the daily totals will vary between 40 and 120 miles. All seven of us have been training to make this possible and to ensure success in this trip. The trip is approximately 4,250 miles long.

Where will the Funds will Come From?
We will be soliciting both public and private funds to make this trip possible. For very generous donors we are willing to offer advertisement space on our publications. All of the money donated to Concordia on behalf of the M.O.B. will go directly towards the building fund. Our goal is to raise enough money to break ground as scheduled in November of 2001. As of February 2001 we are $250,000 short.

Why Bike Across the United States?
The main reason we decided to bike across the United States is because it would be challenging, rewarding, and fun. It displays the type of athleticism that can only be present in people who make it part of their everyday life. This is the type of lifestyle that this new facility will promote. Every day will push us as friends, individuals and athletes so that when we go to sleep each night we will be stronger individuals than when we woke up. Overall, we feel that this trip will prepare us to be extraordinary people in day-to-day life as our persistence and perseverance will be much greater than we could have ever imagined.

Qualifications:
All five of the members of Men on Bikes are trained athletes that are dedicated to completing this trip. From the moment we decided to do this, we began training to assure complete success in this event. As you will notice in our personal statistics sheet we are all people who have dedicated much time and effort into giving back to the community; this event simply happens to be a much larger event which allows us to give more than ever before.
